Living with, and loving someone who is experiencing an eating disorder can be, usually is actually, very isolating and terrifying.

Unlike so many other illnesses and life challenges, many of our loved ones with the eating disorder are in it’s icy grasp and don’t feel motivated to “get well” soon. The ED can convince them that life with out ED is not going to be okay or even “good” in some way. So, it’s very different from loving someone who is also interested in “curing” or “getting rid of” this disorder.

Thus, the isolating and terrifying-ness of it.

Which leads me to this GIFT from the wonderful people at SupportEDfamilies.ie and me. Deirdre Reddan and Zuzanna Gejowiec, CED-C and I have created a free video just for families to give you some support to acknowledge this World Eating Disorder Action Day which is Sunday June 2, 2024.

Please give yourself the gift of some free support and take a few moments to sit, enjoy a soothing beverage and take in the love, compassion and support from the three of us.

Keep loving, keep supporting, be present and keep YOU on your TO DO LIST. Remember, self care is not selfish.

Eating Disorder Action Day, 2nd June 2024!

Join us to learn how to avoid the most common caregiver traps that can
occur during eating disorder recovery – and what to do instead.

We know that supporting a loved one on the eating disorder recovery
journey can feel disorienting, and overwhelming.

It can feel like you’ve landed on another planet; it can feel like all
the communication tools that have served you well up until now are no
longer fit for purpose.

It can feel like all you’re doing is providing reassurance to your loved
one – and each time you do, it’s helping less.

Join us for this FREE webinar where we will share our personal and
professional insights on how you can avoid these common traps, remain
calm and emotionally regulated and be the best supporter you can be to
your loved one.
