A certified holistic health & nutrition coach has revealed the three things you should stop doing to avoid binging on the weekend.
Kelly Lyons is a US-based binge eating instructor who was once a chronic dieter and binge eater until she finally broke free from the toxic relationship she’d had with food for 16 years.
Now, she spends her time helping others end their battle with food and put an end to yo-yo dieting by sharing her expert advice on her TikTok channel, where she boasts over 226,000 followers.
Most recently, Kelly detailed how you can stop yourself from binging on the weekends by not planning your weekly diet, and reminding yourself that food doesn’t mean that much.

In a clip posted to the video-sharing platform, she said: ‘If you want to stop binging every weekend and feeling like you have to start over on Monday and being in that cycle all the time, here are three things I want you to do.’
Her first tip was to stop planning your meals for Monday over the weekend.
Kelly explained: ‘I don’t want you to plan Monday’s diet because if you say, “Okay, on Monday I’m going to get back on track, I’m going to avoid carbs,” whatever rules that you do, your brain is immediately saying, “Okay, if I can’t eat what I’m eating now on Monday, then I’m going to eat everything right now.”‘
Next, she noted that to stop yourself from binging on the weekends, you have to stop allowing food to mean so much to you.
The eating coach noted that people place so much pressure on food and how much they eat and what they eat, that it begins to ‘consume’ you in an unhealthy manner.
‘We put so much emphasis on what we’re eating, on what someone else is eating, what we have to eat tomorrow, what we have to eat tomorrow, what we ate this morning, that it consumes us.
‘And then, we just eat more because of it,’ she explained.
Lastly, Kelly said that you should practice ‘self-talk.’

‘Because the decisions that you are making right now are based on what you’re doing right now.
‘And if you don’t want that, we have to change what we say to ourselves.’
