After much consideration, EDV’s SE-ED program will be paused to new participants in an effort to establish an evidence-base for the program.

Since the SE-ED Program commenced in 2022 as a pioneering pilot, 68 individuals have completed the program across six rounds.

Throughout this journey, we have continuously reflected, learned, and adjusted to better meet the needs of the Victorian SE-ED community.

We now need to focus on these learnings to plan for the future of the SE-ED Program and build a strong evidence base which we hope will support the global SE-ED community.

Therefore, as of June 30th, 2024, we will be pausing the delivery of the SE-ED Program to new participants.

This decision has not been made lightly, and we understand it may be upsetting to some. The SE-ED Program has become a vital and trusted offering, and we are committed to ensuring its future sustainability and growth.

By dedicating resources to a formal evaluation of the program, we aim to translate our learnings into a comprehensive and accessible format. This evidence base will be crucial for securing the program’s future and ensuring it can continue to evolve and benefit the community.

During this pause, we remain committed to supporting Victorians experiencing long-term eating disorders. Former participants in the SE-ED Program can continue to attend the SE-ED Alumni Group. Additionally, the SE-ED Online Support Group will continue to be available for anyone in Victoria. We also encourage people to access other EDV services as needed, including Telehealth Counselling and Nursing via the EDV Hub.

Lived experience has always been at the heart of this program. We would like to acknowledge and deeply thank all the participants, lived experience advisors, supporters and staff who have contributed to the development and evolution of the SE-ED Program. We look forward to re-launching the program with renewed investment in the future.
