Kate Middleton’s bandaids may hint at the princess having an eating disorder, according to theories online.
In a theory that one TikToker said is the only one “grounded in reality,” a creator who shares content using the handle @herminator_mn speculates that Kate, much like her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, has an eating disorder.
The proof?
According to TikTok, Kate has been wearing Band-Aids on her fingers consistently in recent photos. And, that points to wear and tear on the hands, a sign of having bulimia. It’s called Russell’s sign actually, and results from purging repeatedly.

In the TikTok that suggests Kate could have bulimia, the creator says that “the parallels” between what Diana went though and what Kate may be dealing with “are pretty sad and pretty scary.”

The clip ends with a prompt to google information about gastrointestinal problems that can be caused by bulimia. Remember, the Princess of Wales underwent an abdominal surgery in January 2024, although more information about exactly what that involved was not shared — and still has not been disclosed despite intense public scrutiny.

Princess Diana spoke out about having an eating disorder.
All the way back in 1995, the most famous woman in the world at that time, Diana, was talking about having bulimia.
Indeed, the brave royal said in a now-famous interview with Martin Bashir, “I had bulimia for a number of years. And that’s like a secret disease.”
“You inflict it upon yourself because your self-esteem is at a low ebb, and you don’t think you’re worthy or valuable,” Diana continued. “You fill your stomach up four or five times a day – some do it more – and it gives you a feeling of comfort.”

Even though Diana was outspoken about what she went through, Kate up until this point has not said that she has an eating disorder. So, although the TikToker who speculated about this being the case asked for space and kindness for the royal if she indeed struggling with a mental health crisis involving an eating disorder, at this time, this is still a rumor.
To be fair, this video if far from the first time that the Band-Aids theory or speculation about Kate having an eating disorder has been shared.
As of this writing, the palace has not offered any more information about what Kate is dealing with, nor has the royal family changed its original statement that Kate would return to her royal duties around Easter, at the end of March 2024.
