Distribution event to provide 120,000 pounds of fresh produce to local families in need

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Atrium Health Navicent and its community partners will host a drive-thru food distribution event on Friday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to noon at Atrium Health Navicent Primary Care West, located at 3780 Eisenhower Parkway.
According to a news release, organizers aim to distribute three tractor-trailer trucks worth of food—about 120,000 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables—to local families in need.
The distribution will be on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
Directional signage will be posted and attendees are asked to form a line.
“Access to healthy food is an essential part of improving the health of our community,” Atrium Health Navicent President Delvecchio Finley said. “We are thankful for our partners’ generous support and for this opportunity to provide access to even more fresh produce this year for families in our community facing food insecurity.”
Partners include the Society of St. Andrew, the Southeast Produce Council and Horace Holmes Ministries.
Atrium Health Navicent also offers food and nutrition assistance at the Healthy Communities Food as Medicine Market.
