Over 200 families in the Orlando area will receive fresh produce, fish and nonperishable canned goods. Farm Share, Florida’s leading food nonprofit and largest food bank is distributing food to food-insecure Floridians. On Sunday, Farm Share is partnering with Clermont Food Drive to host an outdoor food distribution. Distributions are drive-thru only and first come, first served. Lines of cars have shown up at 2757 Citrus Tower Blvd. to get food. Organizers said anyone can come and get food. Kaila Justice is the Farm Share community event coordinator. She said these food drives also prepare families with healthy options during hurricanes. “It really is just about healthy eating, and I think that’s what we are most desperate for in this day and age,” said Justice. Farm Share also distributes food to the community through its network of soup kitchens, food pantries, homeless shelters, churches and senior centers across Florida free of charge.
